Wynne Shaw’s Profile

2015_Wynne Shaw

I’ve been your District 1 Council Member for over 6 years and have represented you and the City of Lone Tree as a Board Member and member of the Executive Committee for DRCOG (Denver Regional Council of Governments).  I am a Board Member of the RTC (Regional Transportation Committee), Advisory Committee on Aging for DRCOG, Chair of the Douglas County Subregional Transportation Forum and past Board Chair and Treasurer for the Douglas County Housing Partnership. I am honored and privileged to continue to serve you.

Carriage Club has been my home for over 23 years, and I have been a proud Colorado resident for over 40 years. I believe in fiscal responsibility and planning for a secure future. My professional background is in Financial Services, spending my last 23 years at Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and TIAA. I led teams and departments focused on active trading, wealth management, retirement planning, client retention, client development, financial market and pricing analysis in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

I understand that hard work, leadership, relationship-building and teamwork are required to create sustainable growth. I began my career working in a small filing systems and micrographics business. I believe that volunteerism is crucial in our community, so I am a dedicated volunteer. I have led an active chapter of 100 women in a prominent women’s lineage and service organization, am a parliamentarian and an officer in a women’s political club. Additionally, I maintain an educational website and Facebook page to support widows and widowers, inspired by the loss of my husband in an auto accident in 2002. For additional detail about my work activity, view my LinkedIn profile.

My daughter, Erin, is a Colorado native and a Certified Nurse Midwife at a Denver hospital. With her husband Mike, they own and operate a small business: Denver’s Premier Sport and Social Club, called Meet.Play.Chill. I became a proud grandmother in early 2019 and again in late 2020.

I have a strong love for Colorado and the Lone Tree community. I want to maintain and extend the feel of community in Lone Tree by continuing to keep our city safe, friendly, and welcoming to residents, visitors and those who work in our City. I understand the challenges of growth. As Lone Tree continues to grow, my work experience on City Council and with organizations during periods of long- and short-term growth makes me the right choice for City Council. I believe in the importance of developing and maintaining a culture of service and support.

My thoughtful and visionary approach toward leadership has driven professional success and is also a critical value in a City Council member. And while I am known throughout my work and personal life as a leader, I am equally honored to be valued as a person who works well as part of a team–one who supports and values my teammates. Both my work and personal experiences have taught me that while we plan for our bright future, we must learn from the past and never forget to take time to enjoy the present.
